Another iteration of the contest about Lublin brings a new, original perspective on the city, often one of a kind and surprising. It confirms that our city is an endless source of inspiration. The contest “Lublin in paintings” is for the participants gathered in the Lublin Society of Friends of fine Arts. Aside from artists specalising in cityscapes, there are also thise who make their first attempt to tackle this difficult topic. Architecture is a very peculiar topic and oftenrequires many years of systematic studying. The commiteee selected the paintings taking into account the angle, composition and concept. An important aspect was individual perspective that often went beyond traditional topic in which personal feelings aqre very important. Among paintings on display we will also find thise which faithfully recreate fragments of architecture or the panroama of Lublin as well as thise which go beyon sterotypical cityscapes and refer to to the conventions of contemporary paiting. In both we find the city’s unique atmosphere. All in all, the works on display are artistically mature. The artists keep looking for new solutions. Judgiung by the level of all of this year’s artists on dis0play, they will keep developing. The art contest “ Lublin in painting” is organised cyclically and the contest exhibition is a permanent part of Night of Culture. The contest is for artists gathered in the Lublin Friends of of Fine Arts Society. The contest’s jury selects the best works to be exhibited and then grants awards and special distinctions.
