19:00-20:30 – EWJ423 (Relentless)
20:30-22:00 – Orkiestra Świętego Mikołaja
22:00-23:30 – Kings of the South Seas
23:30-2:00 – Habadekuk
A few weeks ago we asked netizens what concert they want to hear on Night of Culture? The answer is: EWJ423 (Relentless), which won the poll even though it is a fairly new band. They share passion for Christian rock.
Once again, we will hear Orkiestra Świętego Mikołaja and their folk-inspired music. Acoustic sounds, vocal mannerisms and a whole range of unique instruments create a unique mood.
Orkiestra Świętego Mikołaja is composed of:
Anna Kołodziej – violin, nyckelharpa, mazanki, vocal
Aleksandra Bałdyga – cello, vocal,
Jacek Warszawa – percussion
Bogdan Bracha – violin, shepherd’s flute, reeds, vocal
Marcin Skrzypek – dulcimer, guitar, mandoline, cobza, vocal
This year, we have a surprise: bands from Denmark and Great Britain. Habadeuk is a 9-strong orchestra from Copenhagen that combines Danish folk, jazz and rock’n’roll. They will pull us right into rip-roaring fun, you will remember them for a long time. Kings of the South Seas trio from the UK is a journey to the sea. They play original interpretations of sea chanties. But don’t expect classic port songs. The band’s music is closer to the dark ballads of Nick Cave or The Tiger Lillies and their concerts resemble stage shows in which acoustic sound fuses with rock and deep vocal, creating a powerful effect.
