Join us for a walk through 200 years of the history of Zamojska Street. We have prepared archival photos of Żmigród and various trivia that show Żmigród’s importance for the city.
We will begin our tale in 1815, when a trail connecting the industrial city and the centre was built. We will recall the legend about Żmij whose image still graces the most important town monuments. Next, we will discuss the most important buildings in the vicinity: the Arian chapel, the Metropolitan Seminary, Vetter’s malthouse, bridge on the Bystrzyca where the street comes to an end. We will also recall numerous industrial plants thathave successfully operated at Zamojska Street over the last 200 years. We will also tell you about the lesser known, sometimes forgotten aspects of the street and present the story of possibly the most important Polish agent of the military intelligence service.
