Imagine a… trendy club, a place for meetings and conversations, tourist information point, summer cinema, greenhouse, a space for art exhibitions and presentations or a gallery of contemporary design all inside the current pavilion at the Bus Station. All this is possible! For Night of Culture, the bus station’s pavilion will become a 1:1 mockup of these ideas – a prototype model of activities presenting the possibilities of adding functions to the current bus station as well as possibilities of adapting the area after the bus station transfers to the area of Lublin’s Railways Station. The lack of bus stop in the area of the Lublin castle does not have to result in the demolition of the building; rather, it is a challenge to fill the empty building. There are many ways in which the pavilion could be adapted, but this time it will transform into a space for art activities and exhibitions aiming to highlight the architectural values of the modernist pavilion and to draw more attention to the need to preserve the building for the sake of the Lublin Castle borough and the city. The Organizers want to know the reactions of the attendees and their views on the possible transformation of the building. For enthusiasts of post-war architecture, this will be a chance to closely examine the pavilion and learn about its constructor, Eugeniusz Szurgot.
