19:00 – 22:00 Opening of the exhibition with Justyna Polakowska, room 1-2
The exhibition is based on poetic texts by polish authors from the past three centuries – from Romanticism to the present time. The presented works are about freedom. However, in each piece it is seen differently. Patriotism is the subject of some of the selected poems. Others refer to freedom as to an intimate human experience. The freedom to co-create the world, the society, but also the freedom to live one’s life on the sidelines. The freedom as the very purpose of human endeavour and freedom that proves the human affiliation to the natural world.
The exhibition presents the works of Cyprian Kamil Norwid, Adam Mickiewicz, Juliusz Słowacki, Adam Asnyk, Maria Konopnicka, Antoni Słonimski, Leopold Staff, Julian Tuwim, Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński, Wisława Szymborska, Stanisław Barańczak, Ewa Lipska, Jerzy Harasymowicz, Tadeusz Różewicz. It is rich in illustrations showing artworks of polish painters, sculptors and photographers.
